(NAR) VOL. 1 NO.2 / APRIL - JUNE 1990

[ DDB BOARD REGULATION NO. 1, s. 1986, January 15, 1986 ]

EXTENSION OF THE PERIOD OF EFFECTIVITY OF BOARD REGULATION NO. 4, S. 1984 EXCLUDING PENTAZOCINE FROM THE LIST OF REGULATED DRUGS, AND AMENDING THE CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO SUCH EXCLUSION

Pursuant to the powers vested in it under Section 36(a) of RA 6425, as amended, and following its decision arrived at in a meeting on this date, the Dangerous Drugs Board hereby extends the period of effectivity of Board Regulation No. 4, s. 1984, subject to the same requirements imposed in the said regulation, except as indicated hereunder.

1.  In lieu of the requirement in subparagraph (d) of the Board Regulation No. 4, s. 1984, the importers, manufacturers, compounders, producers and distributors (wholesalers) of Pentazocine shall render monthly and annual reports to the Dangerous Drugs Board specifying therein the quantities of the drugs to be exported, imported or distributed locally as well as of the drugs used for manufacture in every region of the country;

2.  The extension shall be effective on the date Board Regulation No. 4 expires and shall thereafter be in effect for one (1) year.

3.  After expiration of the period of effectivity of this extension, the drug shall automatically revert to the category of a regulated drug unless there is another extension made by the Board.  (The DDB, in its 224th Meeting on Feb. 19, 1987 did not extend further the exclusion of Pentazonine from the List of Regulated Drugs.  The drug, therefore, automatically reverted to the category of a regulated drug).

This Regulation shall take effect fifteen (15) days after completion of its publication in a newspaper of general circulation once a week for two consecutive weeks.

Adopted: 15 Jan. 1986
