IMPORTATION OF HUBLESS CAST IRON PIPES AND FITTINGS



This refers to your various Memoranda of different dates disallowing the importation of subject articles.

Based on the recommendation of Collectors Reynaldo Nicolas and Felipe Bartolome, District Collector POM and MICP, respectively, in their joint Memorandum dated 05 May 1999 copy of which is hereto attached as Annex "A"*, and pursuant to CMC 298-A dated 05 November 1998, you may allow the importation of Hubless cast iron pipes and fittings subject to payment of duties and taxes and compliance with existing rules and regulations.

It bears stressing that CMC 298-A has been in effect and until and unless the same is superseded by an order from this office or from any other higher authorities, including the Courts, the same has to be observed. Accordingly, the various Memoranda issued contrary to CMC 298-A are deemed without any force and effect.
