[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 339, May 21, 1996 ]

AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 167 DATED 25 MARCH 1994, CREATING THE IWAHIG PENAL COLONY INTER-AGENCY STUDY COMMITTEE



WHEREAS, Executive Order (EO) No. 167 was issued on 24 March 1994 creating the Iwahig Penal Colony Inter-Agency Committee (IPC-IASC);

WHEREAS, said EO mandated the IPC-IASC to submit recommendations to the President, within one (1) year from its creation, comprehensive study and development plan for the area covered by the Iwahig Penal Colony to include its forest and lowland areas, inland waters and the coastal area;

WHEREAS, pursuant to the above mandate of the IPC-IASC, it has agreed to undertake three (3) sets of studies for the subject area namely; Land Use Plan, b) Master Plan, and c) Feasibility Study; and

WHEREAS, due to financial constraints and the need for more time to complete the Master Plan and the Feasibility Study there is need to extend the timeframe of submission of the IPC-IASC of said plan and study to the Office of the President.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. Amendatory Clause. — Section 3 (e) of EO No. 167 (s. 1994), is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 3 (e). Submit to the Office of the President on or before 30 June 1997 the final Master Plan and Feasibility Study for the Iwahig Penal Colony to include the timetable of implementation of different development projects identified in the Master Plan and the implementing agencies that will be involved".
SECTION 2. Saving Clause. — All provisions of EO No. 167, (s. 1994), not inconsistent herewith shall remain in effect.

SECTION 3. Effectivity. — This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
