[ MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NUMBER 2006 - 080, December 29, 2006 ]

AMENDMENTS TO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2006-008 DATED 01 FEBRUARY 2006 (RE: FINAL EXTENSION OF DEADLINE PRESCRIBED UNDER MC 2005-035, RE: EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF VALIDITY OF EXPIRED FRANCHISES WITH MODIFICATIONS ) AND MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2006-060 DATED 16 AUGUST 2006



In the interest of the public transport service, the Board hereby extends the period for late filing of applications/petitions for extension of validity of expired certificates of public convenience, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. It shall be allowed in all types of denomination;

  2. It shall cover certificates of public convenience issued by the Central Office and all Regional Offices which expired from 01 January 2002;

  3. The regular penalty for late filing in the amount of FIVE HUNDRED PESOS (Php500.00) per unit and per month shall be charged;

  4. In addition to the above-mentioned regular penalty, the following penalties shall also be imposed:

    a. Jitneys and Sedans - Php500.00 per unit
    b. AUVs, Vans, Coasters and Mini-Buses - Php750.00 per unit
    c. Buses and Trucks - Php1,000.00 per unit

Operators who are covered by this memorandum circular and who may want to avail of the privilege are given until 31 DECEMBER 2007

This Memorandum Circular supersedes any and all issuances inconsistent herewith and shall be effective fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation or in the Official Gazette.
