AMENDMENT TO THE PROVISION OF PARAGRAPH 7 SECTION 109 — ACTS AND OMISSIONS BY JOCKEYS AND THE PROCEDURES FOR DRUG TESTING



Please be informed that the Philracom Board in its meeting held on March 26, 1998 approved the following amendment to the Horse Racing Rules and Regulations.

Section 109 — Acts and/or Omissions by Jockeys:


MISCELLANEOUS: (EXISTING)

7.  A jockey whose urine sample is found positive of any prohibited substance shall be recommended for drug dependency examination and rehabilitation under the Dangerous Drugs Board and be suspended indefinitely, until submission to the Commission of a certificate that he has been fully rehabilitated.

The amended provisions of PAR. 7 SECTION 109 SHALL NOW BE READ AS FOLLOWS:
MISCELLANEOUS: (AMENDMENT)

7.      “A JOCKEY WHO HAS BEEN FOUND POSITIVE FOR ANY OF THE PROHIBITED DRUGS AFTER CONFIRMATION BY THE DANGEROUS DRUGS BOARD SHALL BE BANNED FOR LIFE FROM PARTICIPATING IN ANY OF THE RACES AS WELL AS FROM EXERCISING AND RIDING HORSES WITHIN THE PREMISES OF ANY RACING CLUB.
