(NAR) VOL. 7 NO. 3 / JULY-SEPTEMBER 1996

[ BOC MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 26, S. 1992, October 15, 1992 ]

OUTSIDE MEDICAL/DENTAL CASE OF DETAINEES/PRISONERS



For the effective and orderly record keeping of all types of medical and dental care extended to any group of detainees/ prisoners by a representative/s of any duly organized entity, civic organization, etcetera shall forthwith observe the following guidelines:

1. Only one group will be accredited officially to attend to the medical needs of these detainees/prisoners who don’t seek consultation to NBP Hospital and who has no record filed in the NBP Hospital.

2. All laboratory and diagnostic procedures requested by the doctors from the detainees or prisoners will be subject to the approval by the Chief of Clinics of the New Bilibid Prison Hospital.

3. In case of admission, detainees/prisoners will automatically be under the care and supervision of the NBP Hospital doctors.  The visiting doctors are not allowed to interfere with the management and treatment of the patient/s.

4. The doctors and dentists concerned must submit their respective proper credentials to the Chief of Hospital.

5. They must wear white uniforms with blazer with proper identification.

6. The hospital of the Bureau of Corrections and its officers/personnel will not be held liable for whatever untoward incident that may arise as a result of their treatment extended by their treatment extended by visitors.

7. All medicines brought by a representative or groups of individual from any organizations intended to the detainees/prisoners must be deposited  at the NBP Hospital Pharmacy and will be dispensed by the Pharmacist.

8. Furthermore, the Bureau of Corrections will not be held responsible for any liability and will not also guarantee the safety of any visitor/s during their stay in the hospital premises.

9. Any visiting doctors and dentists are duly allowed to stay and conduct examinations/consultations at the NBP Hospital Consultation Room.
