MONITORING EXPORTS OF CAT. 5 EU



In view of the high utilization of category 5 EU and in order to monitor closely exports of this category and provide a mechanism for checking possible transshipment, the following measures are being adopted:

1. All quota holders of cat. 5 EU shall submit to GTEB on or before August 16, 2004 a schedule of production and shipments for the remaining months of the year.  The schedule shall contain the following details:

a. Schedule of date of cutting, sewing and finishing
b. Shipment date and quantity to be shipped
c. List of subcontractors (if manufacturing of goods will be subcontracted)

Subsequent adjustments in the schedule shall also be submitted to GTEB.

2. Firms requesting for special allocation in this category should file their quota application at least two (2) months before the scheduled shipment date.  All the requirements listed in no. 1 above shall likewise be submitted together with the application for quota.

3. Only TEC applications that are in accordance with the shipment schedules as submitted shall be processed.

4. Validity of TECs for shipments of category 5 EU shall be reduced from 30 days to 15 days effective immediately.
