TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR THE USE OF COMMEMORATIVE CAR PLATES



1.0
Purpose

This Order is issued for the purposes of regulating the issuance and use of commemorative plates, and preventing proliferation thereof.

2.0
Coverage

This Order shall apply to all individuals, civic, social, spiritual, profit or non-profit organizations and all other entities with pending applications or with intention to apply for a permit to issue/use commemorative car plates.

3.0
Policy

Pursuant to Sec. 5 of Memorandum Order No. 405 dated 04 November 1996 entitled, "Providing Policies and Measures to Further Regulate the Issuance and Use of Commemorative Plates" processing of permits and evaluation of applications for permits to issue and/or use commemorative plates are hereby suspended until the Implementing Guidelines, Rules and Regulations is issued by the Land Transportation Office and approved by this Department.

Penal Clause

All persons, private or public officials, who shall cause directly or indirectly the issuance or use of commemorative plates, whether or not he/she profited or will profit thereby, in defiance of this Order, shall be dealt with by law.

5.0
Repealing Clause

All orders, memoranda and other issuances inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked, superseded or amended accordingly.

6.0
Effectivity

This Order shall take effect immediately following its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
