(NAR) VOL. 13 NOS. 1-2 / JANUARY-JUNE 2002

[ MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2002-007, JUNE 4, 2002, June 04, 2002 ]

AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2002-022 (ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATION TO OPERATE TAXI SERVICE WITH MINIMUM USE OF FIFTY (50) UNITS) AND MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2001-017 (ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS TO OPERATE TAXI SERVICE WITH MINIMUM USE OF BRAND NEW UNIT FROM 50 TO 20 UNITS)

In view of the continuing slump in the transportation industry as borne by the fact that since the issuance of MC 2001-017 on September 28, 2001, no application was ever filed availing the twenty (20) units minimum, the Board hereby resolves to further reduce the minimum number of units from twenty (20) units, hence, the second paragraph, sub. par. (1) of Memorandum Circular No. 2000-022 shall read as follows:

“1. Every application must be for a minimum use of ten (10) brand new units”

In addition thereto, the phrase “BRAND NEW UNITS” shall mean four-door sedan units manufactured in the current year when the application is filed.

Finally, all the ten (10) brand new units must be ready at the time the Formal Offer of Evidence is accepted by the Board or at the time a Motion for the Issuance of Provisional Authority is filed. No incomplete Formal Offer of Evidence shall be accepted by the Board. All units must be equipped with radios with transceivers, receivers and with metering machines that issue receipts, the latter having been duly registered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

The provisions in this Circular shall apply to both existing and new operators.

All issuances or parts thereof inconsistent with this Memorandum Circular are hereby suspended, revoked and/or modified accordingly.

This Memorandum Circular takes effect immediately.
