[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 40, September 12, 1996 ]

SELECTIVE LISTING OF THE TEMPORARY SUSPENSION TO BAHRAIN AND SAUDI ARABIA



In view of the recommendation by the Philippine Embassies in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and the Department of Foreign Affairs, the temporary suspension on the processing and deployment of contract workers to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia is hereby lifted only for the following categories:
  1. Returning contract workers (rehires);

  2. Contract workers of government offices and hospitals; and

  3. Contract workers of private establishments which have contingency plans.
Contract workers bound for the following areas northwest of Saudi Arabia bordering Iraq and Kuwait, however remain suspended:

    a. Haper Al Batin City        j. Arar City

    b. Rawdat Ibn Habbas       k. Hazam Al Talamid City

    c. Rafha                            l. Turaif

    d. Talat Al Timat              m. Hafer Al Naam

    e. Al Markuz                    n. Unazah

    f. Al Uwayqiliah City          o. Unazah

    g. Ar Eaq'ay                    p. Al Qaysumah

    h. Al Khafji                     q. As Sadawi

    i. Umm Al Qassba            r. Ras As Saraniyah

The processing and deployment of other skill categories such as household workers remain suspended.
