1) PENALTY FOR JOCKEYS WHO DO NOT RIDE OUT THEIR HORSES UP TO THE FINISH LINE AND FOR THEIR MOUNTS 2) RENUNCIATION OF HORSES IN MAIDEN DIVISION (C) 3) HANDICAP WEIGHTS OF VICIOUS HORSES REQUIRED TO UNDERGO BARRIER TRIAL TO BE RETAINED



Please be informed that the Philracom Board in its meeting held on April 26, 2002, after due deliberation, resolved to approve the following:

1.         Jockeys who do not ride out their horses up to the finish line shall be penalized with a suspension of two (2) racing weeks.  The handicap weight of horses ridden by these jockeys shall be increased to 54 kgs. if the natural weight is less than 54 kgs. but shall be retained if the natural handicap weight is 54 kgs. or higher.

2.         Horses in Maiden Division (C) shall be allowed to be renounced to Class 4 — Division 1B

(a)        after five (5) consecutive clean losses, or

(b)        after an approved vacation of six (6) months or more.  The owner/trainer should present a certification from a Philracom veterinarian that the horse suffered injury before the renunciation can be approved.

3.         The handicap weights of vicious horses required to undergo barrier trial due to offenses as described in Section 45.0.B, Section 45.0.C and Section 45.D, as determined by the Board of Stewards, shall be retained.

These shall take effect 15 days after publication.
