AMENDMENTS TO PPA MC NO. 17-2001



Paragraph 4 of PPA MC No. 17-2001 dated 30 March 2001 Re: Guidelines Implementing the Orderliness, Cleanliness and Safety Programs in All Ports Nationwide is hereby amended to include additional provisions and shall now read as follows;

4. Guidelines

4.1    Orderliness and Security

4.1.6  To ensure orderliness, an area shall be condoned during embarkation and disembarkation of passengers.  Priority/access lanes shall likewise be provided for people with special needs, such as the disabled, pregnant women, senior citizens and passengers with infants/toddlers.  These access areas and priority lanes shall be designed in accordance with acceptable standards.  Likewise, a porters' area shall be designated for queuing purposes while vessels are being docked.

4.1. 7 The installation of amenity blocks, to include amenities like drinking fountains, telephones, vendo machines and comfort rooms, in designated port areas shall be pursued in coordination with shipping operators.  In addition, an exclusive enclosed area for parents to clean (diaper changing tables) nurse or feed their infants shall be provided at the passenger terminal buildings.

4.7 Public Assistance Counter - A public assistance counter shall be established and manned to receive complaints and request for assistance.  Coordination with ail relevant agencies shall be made.
