LPGIA REQUEST FOR CONCERTED EFFORTS AGAINST ILLEGAL, UNFAIR AND UNSAFE PRACTICES IN THE LPG INDUSTRY
The LPG Industry Association has reported the proliferation in the domestic market of illegal, dilapidated and unsafe imported used/second hand LPG cylinders.
These substandard used/second hand LPG cylinders had been reported to cause 3% of the total fire incidents in 2000-2002.
In this connection, you are hereby directed to monitor and cause the issuance of Alert/Hold Orders against all shipments of used/second hand LPG cylinders and LPG cylinders declared as scrap.
