[ NTC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NUMBER 1-1-92, January 09, 1992 ]

PRESCRIBING GUIDELINES FOR THE REGISTRATION OF ILLEGALLY HELD/UNREGISTERED RADIO TRANSCEIVERS/TRANSMITTERS



WHEREAS, previous NTC Memorandum Circulars regarding the registration of illegally held/unregistered radio communications equipment under a schedule of liberal penalties, permitted during their respective effectivity periods the registration of radio transceivers/transmitters and their accessories in order to allow holders to legitimize their possession;

WHEREAS, notwithstanding several registration periods and extensions thereof, there still exist numerous unregistered radio transceivers/transmitters.

Now, THEREFORE, premises considered, it is hereby directed that individuals, companies and/or entities, except radio dealers and manufacturers, shall be allowed to register their radio transceivers/transmitters and accessories in accordance with the following guidelines:

1.      The subsequent licensing of registered radio transceivers/transmitters shall be in accordance to existing rules and regulations and the usual licensing procedures for any radio service.

2.      Registration Period:

          20 January 1992 to 14 February 1992

The Commission reserves the right to reject the registration of any radio transceiver/transmitter when it deems necessary in the interest of the public.

All radio transceivers/transmitters registered under this Circular shall be considered the accountability of the registrant.  Any violations pertaining to the use of such registered equipment including its use by persons other than the registrant shall be a ground for appropriate administrative sanctions and/or fines and penalties as may be imposed by this Commission.

This Circular takes effect immediately after approval and may be revised, revoked or amended as the Commission deems necessary for public interest.
