(NAR) VOL. IV NO. 1 / JANUARY - APRIL 1993

[ MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 92-026, December 14, 1992 ]

LIVE PROGRAMS ON TELEVISION

This is to remind you of Memorandum Circular No. 1-3-90 which is still very much in effect regarding live programs on television quoted hereunder for your easy reference:
"All live TV programs must be presented to the Board for review/classification, and for issuance of official permit within 48 hours after airing; and before said program may be forwarded to provincial stations.

It is illegal to air live shows shown in Manila T.V. stations in the provincial stations without MTRCB permit as said shows would have been, by then, pretaped.  It is also the policy of the Board which is in accordance with the law that live-shows must also be reviewed/classified (after the effect); and corresponding fees imposed as the airlanes belong to the patrimony of the state.

The Board has also the right to reprimand and impose penalties on shows aired live on television which violate P.D. 1986 and its Rules and Regulations."
Likewise, please be informed that adults programs are not allowed for television broadcast anytime of the day.  Parental Guidance television programs are allowed only after 9:00 in the evening while General Patronage television programs may be broadcast anytime of the day.  Strict compliance with this television classification guide is hereby enjoined.

For your information and guidance.
