[ SRA CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 32, May 25, 1999 ]
AMENDMENT TO CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 18, SERIES OF 1998-199, RE: AFFILIATION OF UNAFFILIATED SUGAR PLANTERS AND ASSOCIATIONS/COOPERATIVES
Circular Letter No. 18, Series of 1998-1999 issued on March 24, 1999 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) hereby advises all unaffiliated sugar planters and sugar associations/cooperatives to affiliate with either of the four (4) National Planters' Federations, namely 1) Confederation of Sugar Producer's Association, Inc. (CONFED), ii) National Federation of Sugarcane Planters, Inc. (NFSP), iii) United Sugar Producer's Federation Inc. (UNIFED), and iv) Panay Federation of Sugarcane Farmers, Inc. PANAYFED) within thirty (30) days from the date hereof.
Membership in any planters association, cooperative or federation stated in par. 1 hereof will facilitate distribution and payment of whatever benefits may be granted by law or administrative order in favor of said planters association, cooperatives or federation governing future sugar importation.
However, if the concerned associations shall decide to remain unaffiliated, they are hereby directed to notify this Office as soon as possible concerning information about their addresses in order that the SRA shall have the means of how to channel whatever benefits the industry may derive from the forthcoming sugar importation."
This Circular Letter shall take effect immediately.
