STOLEN U.S. INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MONEY ORDERS



Quoted hereunder is a notice received from the United States Postal Inspection Service warning all bank tellers on stolen U.S. International Postal Money Orders.

WARNING
Stolen U.S. International Postal Money Orders

"On June 30, 1994, we received information that 2,000 blank U.S. International Postal Money Orders were reported missing from one of our postal stations in Los Angeles, California. This notice should be posted and used by your bank tellers. The actual series numbers consist of the first 10 digits on the money orders

As of March 22, 1995, 330 postal money orders totalling over $541,149.00 have been cashed. A majority of those negotiated were in the Philippines. Any financial loss due to acceptance of altered or counterfeit money orders will be incurred by you or your depositor. The maximum valid amount of any U.S. Postal Money Order is $700.00 U.S. Any U.S. Postal Money Order completed in excess of $700.00 is either stolen, altered, or both, do not cash!" —U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
