[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2005-009, April 01, 2005 ]

ACCEPTANCE OF PETITIONS/APPLICATIONS FOR EXTENSION OF VALIDITY OF EXPIRED CERTIFICATES OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE FROM 01 JANUARY 2004 UP TO 31 MARCH 2005



After a thorough evaluation of the recommendations of the Regional Directors of this Board and the countless appeals of operators, the Board hereby allows the acceptance of Petitions/Applications for Extension of Validity of Expired Certificates of Public Convenience (CPC), subject to the following conditions:

    1. Only PUJ, PUB, and Taxi Services are covered by this Circular;

    2. Only CPC which expired from 01 January 2004 up to 31 March 2005 are allowed for acceptance;

    3. The regular penalty for late filing in the amount of Five Hundred Pesos (PhP500.00) per unit and per month shall still be charged; and

    4. In addition to the regular penalty abovementioned, the following penalties shall also be imposed regardless of the number of months of expiration:

      a. PUJ Service - Five Thousand Pesos (PhP5,000.00) per unit;
      b. Taxi Service - Seven Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (PhP 7,500.00) per unit; and,
      c. PUB Service - Fifteen Thousand Pesos (PhP15,000.00) per unit.

Operators who are covered by this Circular and who may want to avail of this privilege are given until 30 June 2005 to file their Petitions/Applications.

This Memorandum Circular supersedes any all issuances inconsistent herewith, and takes effect immediately.
