[ POEA ADVISORY NO. 02, S. 2012, January 13, 2012 ]

DEPLOYMENT BAN OF FILIPINO WORKERS TO SOUTH SUDAN



Pursuant to the POEA Governing Board Resolution No. 01, Series of 2012, imposing a total deployment ban on South Sudan, and to protect the welfare and interest of overseas Filipino workers, the processing and deployment of all OFWs bound for South Sudan are hereby deferred until the political and security conditions in the said country have normalized.
 

All recruitment agencies who deployed workers to South Sudan, composing of the ten (10) states of northern Bahr el Ghazal, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Lakes, Warrap, Western Equatoria, Central Equatoria (containing the national capital of Juba), Eastern Equatoria, Jonglei, Unity and Upper Nile, are hereby required to submit report with the following information:

  1. Name and job category of worker
  2. Name, location and contact no. of employer
  3. Deployment date
  4. Status and current whereabouts of deployed workers
  5. Contingency plan/measures ready in case of emergency repatriation situation

Concerned agencies are hereby instructed to submit reports to the Office of the Director, Pre-employment Service Office, this Administration, or e-mail at poea_marketing@yahoo.com, within 48 hours from issuance of this Advisory.
