IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INDIGENT PROGRAM IN THE PROVINCE OF ILOILO



Please be informed that the qualified PhilHealth indigents in the Provinces of Iloilo and their dependents are officially enrolled in the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) and are eligible to avail of Medicare benefits. These qualified indigents have successfully passed the means test conducted by PhilHealth in coordination with the Government of Iloilo.

Effective 1 March 1999, members from the following municipalities and city shall be entitled to Medicare benefits:

- Ajuy - Igbaras
- Badiangan - Lemery
- Batad - Mina
- Balasan - Passi City
- Barotac Viejo - Pavia
- Cabatuan - San Joaquin
- Concepcion - San Miguel
- Duenas - Sara
- Guimbal - Tubungan

Effective 1 April 1999, members from the following municipalities shall be entitled to Medicare benefits:

- Alimodian
- Banate
- Carles
- Estancia
- San Rafael

As accredited PhilHealth providers, you are automatically entitled to participate in the Indigent Sector Component of the NHIP. As such, it is also your responsibility to render services to each of these new PhilHealth members. Each of these members is provided with PhilHealth Identification Cards which contain all pertinent information such as the effectivity or validity of coverage as well as the names of their legal dependents (defined similarly under Program I).

All claims for the payment of services pertaining to these new members and their dependents should be filed at PhilHealth Central Office, 3rd Floor, JOCFER Building, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City. You may refer to the attached benefit package for the indigent members. PhilHealth Form Nos. 1, 2 and 3 shall also be accomplished when filing your claims.

The entitlement to Medicare privileges of PhilHealth's indigent members are provided for under Section 4 (a.iv), Rule I; Section 23, Rule IV; and Sections 44 (d) and 49, Rule VIII of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the National Health Insurance Act of 1995 as well as in Section 2.1, Part II (Warranties of Accreditation) of your application for accreditation.
