AMENDMENT OF AO NO. 3 SERIES OF 1978 AND 9 SERIES OF 1991 PRESCRIBING BUYING AND SELLING PRICE OF VEGETABLE SEEDS AND SEEDLINGS AND VEGETATIVELY PROPAGATED PLANT MATERIALS RESPECTIVELY



For the guidance of all concerned, the selling prices of selected vegetable seeds and seedlings (sexually and asexually) and vegetatively propagated produced by the different stations and seed farms of the Department of Agriculture as contained in Administrative Order No. 3 Series of 1978 and AO No. 9 Series of 1991 are hereby revised.

The Department of Agriculture Field Offices and the Bureau of Plant Industry shall be guided by the following policies/guidelines:

1.         All DA station and seed farm produced seeds should pass the germination, moisture and physical purity tests standard of 80%, 85% and 95%, respectively to be conducted by the Seed Testing Laboratory of National Seed Quality Control Services prior to sale/distribution.

2.         All seeds still on stock by any DA field units after two months shall be sampled and submitted to the Seed Quality Control Laboratory for germination and moisture content test and seeds that fall within the quality standard are eligible for sale/distribution.

3.         Seeds and plant materials shall be sold on cash and carry basis. In case of plant materials maintained in the station after eight (8) months, a one peso (P1.00) increase in price shall be added after every month, to cover the cost of maintenance.

4.         Seed germination that fall below the minimum standard quality shall be disposed as commercial stocks and those seeds not suitable for other purposes shall be condemned accordingly.

5.         Plant materials for asexually propagated shall be sourced from the registered parent trees.

This order shall take effect upon approval and supercedes all other Administrative Orders inconsistent herewith.
