[ BOC CUSTOMS MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 15-2008, March 05, 2008 ]

AMENDING CMO NO. 15-2005 (REGISTRATION OF IMPORTERS)



Effective immediately, all applications for First and Last Importation for seafreight shipments at the Ports of Manila and MICP shall no longer be coursed through the Office of the Commissioner for appropriate action, clearance or approval and shall be transmitted by the Director, CMS directly to the Deputy Commissioner, MISTG with his recommendation.

The approval of applications for First and Last Importation shall be subject to the following requirements:

1. Strict compliance with Section V-1 and 2 of Customs Administrative Order No. 8-2007 on "Description of Imported Articles in Tariff Terms" as implemented by CMO No. 28-2007 (e.g.: For Motor vehicles, the specific description shall be in accordance with the following example:

2. Shipments under First and Last Importation shall be treated as alerted shipments subject to mandatory 100% physical examination.

Non-compliance to the above requirement of proper description of imported articles in tariff terms shall be a ground for the denial of the application for first and last importation.
