(NAR) VOL. IV NO. 4 / OCTOBER-DECEMBER 1993

[ MIAA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 5, S. 1992, August 31, 1992 ]

NO SMOKING POLICY



In the interest of the service, and in order to promote the safety and general well-being of passengers and other airport users, the following shall be adopted in the implementation of the above captioned subject:

1.0       Smoking shall be strictly prohibited at all passenger movement areas of the International and Domestic Passenger terminals of the NAIA Complex.

2.0       As an exception to this rule, smoking areas marked by prominent signs shall be located at the Arrival and Departure lobbies, as well as inside airport restaurants.

3.0       Violation of this rule shall be punishable as follows:

3.1 For passengers and visitors to the airport, a fine of P500.00 for every apprehension.

3.2 For all Airport personnel, (MIAA, other agencies, airlines and other regular pass holders):
First Offense: P500.00
Second Offense: P1,000.00
Third Offense: revocation of
ID and/or access pass
3.3  Additional administrative sanctions may be imposed upon MIAA employee-violators.

4.0       The following are tasked to assure the strict implementation of this rule:

4.1       MIAA Police

4.2       Philippine Marines airport contingent

This Circular takes effect September 1, 1992.

Everyone is hereby enjoined in this undertaking.
