[ DPWH DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 66, S. 2010, November 24, 2010 ]
PROHIBITION ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW DPWH GUESTS HOUSES, BUILDINGS, AND OTHER SIMILAR FACILITIES
In line with the priorities of the President to optimize available resources for infrastructure development, the construction of new DPWH guests houses, buildings and other similar facilities, particularly in the compounds of the DPWH Regional and District Offices, is hereby prohibited, regardless of funding source.
DPWH officials and employees are likewise prohibited in soliciting funds for the said purpose from the members of the Congress and other government and private agencies.
Repairs and improvements of existing facilities, as may be deemed necessary, may be considered, subject to availability of Engineering and Administrative Overhead (EAO) fund of the office concerned. The Committees on Office Improvements and on the Transfer of Offices shall review requirements of all DPWH offices regarding the matter.
It is hereby clarified that the procurement and implementation activities for such necessary repairs/improvements shall be done in accordance with the provisions of Department Order No. 55, series of 2010.
This Order amends similar DPWH issuances accordingly and takes effect immediately.
