(NAR) VOL. 21 NO.4 OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2010

[ DOH ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 2006-0018-B, October 07, 2010 ]

AMENDMENTS TO ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 2006-0018-A DATED APRIL 17, 2008 REGARDING THE ADDENDUM TO ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 2006-0018 DATED MAY 8, 2006, ENTITILED: “IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES FOR THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL DRUG FORMULARY SYSTEM”



Administrative Orders No. 2006-0018 and 2006-0018-A, regarding the Implementing Guidelines for the Philippine National Drug Formulary System, is hereby amended as follows:

- Additional provision on Section V, letter N which states that “The NCPAM shall be the main organic unit o the DOH that shall provide the necessary administrative and secretariat functions to the FEC and FSG and funds for the honorarium of the said committees. The NCPAM may hire research assistants in support of the subject Committees as the need arises”;

- Change from NDPP to NCPAM and BFAD to FDA;

- All provisions pertaining to PHIC/PHIC website will be deleted EXCEPT for letter J under Section V of the General Guidelines that state “Only drugs reflected in the PNDF Manual shall be considered for reimbursement or subsidy by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) for the entire Health Sector, Government and Private.” and no. 7 under letter A of Section VI of the Specific Guidelines stated that “Proceedings, appraisals, assessments and outputs by all the committees shall be made publicly available through publication on both the DOH and the PHIC websites’, and

- Additional membership from various units of UP included in the Formulary Executive Council, which was also divided into two groups as follows:

I. Non Government Core Members

a) Pharmacology
b) Toxicology
c) Clinical Epidemiology
d) Health Economy
e) Clinical Pharmacy
f) Pharmacovigilance

II. Institutional Partners

a) DOH-National Center for Pharmaceutical Access and Management (NCPAM) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
b) University of the Philippines (UP)-College of Medicine
c) University of the Philippines-College of Pharmacy
d) University of the Philippines-National Drug Information Center (NDIC)

Provisions from other issuances that are inconsistent or contrary to the provisions of this Order are hereby repealed/rescinded. All other provisions under AO Nos. 2006-0018 and 2006-0018-A that are not affected by this order shall still stand in effect.

This Order shall take effect immediately
