[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2010-036, November 11, 2010 ]

IMPOSITION OF PENALTIES FOR DRUNK DRIVING



Alarmed by the reports regarding accidents caused by alcohol influence of drivers of public land transportation services, and adopting the principle of “Respondiat Superior”, grantees of Certificate/s of Public Convenience whose units have been found to have been driven by drivers under the influence of liquor shall be imposed of the following scale of penalties

First Offense - PhP 5,000.00
Second Offense - PhP 10,000,00 and suspension of sixty (60) days
Third Offense - Cancellation of CPC

This Memorandum Circular supersedes and amends all issuances inconsistent herewith and shall take effect fifteen (15) days following its publication in a newspaper of general circulation and filing of three (3) copies hereof with the UP Law Center pursuant to Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 11 dated 9 October 1992.
