(NAR) VOL. 21 NO.4 OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2010

[ LTO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. VPT-2010-1413, October 19, 2010 ]

SUSPENSION OF THE USE OF THE “GREEN COPY” OR OWNER’S COPY OF THE BOC CERTIFICATE OF PAYMENT AS THE BASIS FOR ENCODING

Pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) among BOC, BIR, LTO, PNP- TMG and the members of Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), Truck Manufacturer’s Association (TMA), Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association (MDPPA), and Philippine Automotive Association (PAA); the presentation of the “green copy” of the Certificate of Payment (CP) by the abovementioned manufacturers/importers to LTO shall be sufficient to commence the registration process of the motor vehicle while the original copy of the said CP shall be transmitted officially by the BOC to LTO within five (5) working days. In observance of the MOA, the Certificate of Payment Encoding Unit (CPEU) at the LTO-Central Office that is tasked to encode the CP data accepts the green copy of the CP for encoding and later verifies the data upon receipt of the original CP officially transmitted by the BOC within five (5) working days.

Inasmuch as the LTO-BOC Interconnectivity project has commenced and that it has virtually stopped transmittal of the original copies of the BOC-Certificate of Payment, the CPEU shall stop accepting the “green copy” or the “owner’s copy as basis for encoding.

For strict compliance.
