(NAR) VOL. 21 NO.4 OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2010

[ PHILHEALTH CIRCULAR NO. 27, S. 2010, September 20, 2010 ]

DEADLINE OF PAYMENT OF PHILHEALTH PREMIUM CONTRIBUTION UNDER THE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM (NHIP)

Effective immediately the deadline of payment of PhilHealth Premium contribution under the NHIP shall be observed as follows:

1. EMPLOYED SECTOR

Section 20 Paragraph b of Title III Rule III of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of the National Health Insurance Act of 1995 (Republic Act 7875 as amended by Republic Act 9241) states that “the monthly premium contribution of employed members shall be remitted by the employer on or before the tenth (10th) calendar day of the month following the applicable month for which the payment is due and applicable.”

However, in case the deadline for the payment of premium contribution falls on a Saturday or Sunday, or has been declared a regular/special or a non-working holiday, payment shall be made on the next working day.

2. INDIVIDUALLY PAYING MEMBERS (IPMs)

PhilHealth Circular No. 09, series of 2001 provides that “in order to institute a more flexible payment scheme for IPMs, please be informed that the deadline of payments has been moved to the last working day of the quarter being paid for. Thus, all payments within the quarter shall be applied on the same quarter within which the payment is made.” In case the last working day of the quarter is declared a regular/special or a non- working holiday, IPMs are hereby reminded to remit premium contribution on or before the set deadline to avoid inconvenience on the availment of benefits.

Further, IPMs are given an option to pay on a quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis. Deadline of payment for semi-annual or annual shall be on the last working day of the first quarter of the applicable semester or year.

Payment may be made through any of PhilHealth’s accredited collecting banks/agents or at PhilHealth Offices and branches nationwide.

All other issuances inconsistent with this circular are hereby repealed.

This Circular shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in newspapers of general circulation.

Please be guided accordingly.
