(NAR) VOL. 14 NOS. 3-4 / OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2003

[ POEA ADVISORY NO. 13, s. 2003, November 18, 2003 ]

UAE IMMIGRATION POLICY ON ENTRY OF FOREIGN NATIONALS COVERED BY THE BAN

The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, reported that two Filipino nationals have been detained by UAE immigration authorities after retinal scans matched immigration records showing that they were still under a one-year ban.

At present, UAE immigration authorities are taking retinal scans of foreign nationals who were deported for overstaying or those who have cases or pending complaints against them. The results are then compiled into central databases.

Filipino nationals who fall under the two categories above and who intend to enter UAE under false passports or assumed names shall be arrested and detained if retinal scans would show that they are included in the list of banned nationals.

Please be guided accordingly.
