[ GSIS RESOLUTION NO. 69, April 26, 2012 ]

REVISED POLICY AND PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES (PPG) ON THE GSIS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM



WHEREAS, the GSIS Scholarship Program (GSP) was launched as part of the GSIS’s corporate responsibility of helping the deserving and underprivileged earn a college degree;

WHEREAS, historical data show that the scholarship pre-termination rate of scholars under the GSP has been significantly high in the past years;

WHEREAS, the GSIS recognizes that the thrust of the GSP is to help the dependents of less privileged members earn a college degree from schools that provide quality education;

WHEREAS, there is a need to amend the existing GSP Policy, and Procedural Guidelines that shall serve as a guide to all member-grantees and scholars to ensure an increase in the number of scholars who are able to graduate from schools that provide quality education;

RESOLVED, to APPROVE and CONFIRM the revised Policy and Procedural Guidelines (PPG) on the GSIS Scholarship Program as proposed by the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services Group in her Memorandum dated 24 April 2012;

A copy of the revised PPG on the GSIS Scholarship Program*, attached to the above-mentioned Memorandum, is made an integral part of this Resolution.
