AN ORDER PROVIDING ADDITIONAL TYPES OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICE AND/OR MODIFYING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 97-1097



In the interest of public service, Department Order No. 97-1097 “An Order Providing Standard Classification for all Public Transport Services” is hereby amended as follows:

1. The following types of service are introduced.

10. Mega Taxi
   
Vehicle type
: Asian Utility Vehicle (AUV), Van
   
Seating Capacity
: 7 to 14 including driver consistent with the maximum payload capacity of the vehicle and space availability for cargoes.
   
Route
: No fixed route within a specified area
   
Ventilation
: Ordinary or Air-conditioned
   
Fare
: Minimum rate plus fee per unit distance and unit time as authorized and as measured by a duly calibrated taxi meter
 
11. Public Utility Double Decker Bus
   
Seating Capacity
: 70 and above, excluding driver and conductor
   
Gross Vehicle Weight
: 10,000 kg. and above
   
Body Make
: Double decker coach with entry and exit doors, emergency exits, optional separate baggage compartment and tempered glass windows.
   
Routes
: Fixed route, regular, limited stops or express
   
Ventilation
: Ordinary and Air-conditioned
   
Fare
:Based on distance or zonal as authorized by LTFRB
 
12. Public Utility Articulated Bus
   
Seating Capacity
: 70 and above, excluding driver and conductor
   
Gross Vehicle Weight
: 20,000 kg. and above
   
Body Make
: Articulated coach with entry and exit doors, emergency exits, optional separate baggage compartment and tempered glass windows.
   
Routes
: Fixed route, regular, limited stop or express
   
Ventilation
: Ordinary or air-conditioned
   
Fare
: Based on distance or zonal as authorized by LTFRB.

2. The seating capacity of Public Utility Mini-Bus (Under Item 2 of D.O. No. 97-1097) shall read.

“20-49 excluding driver and conductor”

This Order shall take effect fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation or filing of three (3) copies hereof with the U.P. Law Center, pursuant to Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 11 dated 09 October 1992.
