[ PRC BOARD FOR CUSTOMS BROKERS RESOLUTION NO. 01, S. of 2008, July 22, 2008 ]

PRESCRIBING AND PROMULGATING GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURE IN THE CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION (CPE) PROGRAM FOR REGISTERED AND LICENSED CUSTOMS BROKERS



WHEREAS, Sec. 7 (k), Art. II of R.A. No. 9280, known as the “Customs Brokers Act of 2000”, provides, to wit: “Prepare guidelines for the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) in coordination with the accredited professional organization”;

WHEREAS, Sec. 7 (g), Art. II of R.A. No. 9280 states as follows: “To look into the conditions affecting the practice of customs brokerage, adopt such measures for the enhancement of the profession and the maintenance of high professional, technical, and ethical standards, and conduct ocular inspection of places where customs brokers practice their profession;” and

WHEREAS, after a series of consultation with the Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. (CCBI) and the deans/heads of schools/colleges/universities offering the course of customs brokers, the Board decided to formulate the Guidelines and Procedure in the CPE Program for registered and licensed agricultural engineers;

NOW THEREFORE, the Board hereby RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVED, to prescribe, issue, and promulgate the Guidelines and Procedure in the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Program for Registered and Licensed Customs Brokers, an Annex “A”* to and an integral part of this Resolution.

This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the complete and full publication thereof in the Official Gazette or any daily newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.

Let copy hereof be furnished to the CPE Council for Customs Brokers, the Chamber of Customs Brokers, Inc. (CCBI), the Deans/Heads of schools/colleges/universities offering the course of customs brokers, for dissemination to all concerned.
