(NAR) VOL. 25 NO. 3 / JULY - SEPTEMBER 2014

[ LTO MEMORANDUM, August 04, 2014 ]

ADDENDUM TO MEMORANDUM DATED 06 JUNE 2014 RE: ASSIGNMENT OF PLATE NUMBERS AND COLLECTION OF ADDITIONAL MVUC CORRESPONDING TO THE PORTION OF THE YEAR BASED ON PLATE ENDING

Adopted: 04 August 2014
Date Filed: 22 September 2014

For uniformity and avoidance of doubt, for all plates, a uniform MVUC equivalent to the minimum amount due should be collected upon initial registration, in accordance with the MVUC schedule.

Any additional MVUC due shall be collected upon renewal without penalty provided that the date of renewal does not exceed one year.

Further, pending the system adjustment to accept the new plate format, the following workaround procedures shall be followed in the processing of related registration transactions:

  1. After release of plates assigned to the registered motor vehicle, the transacting D.O. shall file a Request for System Update (RSU) to update the Temporary Plate ending corresponding to the plate ending of issued plate. Please take note that this is only applicable for those MVs assigned with different ending of temporary and actual plate Issued.

  2. Utilizing the same RSU, another action should be requested to set the next registration date to the last day of the month preceding the actual registration month.

Example: due for registration on April 2014

RSU: Set the next registration date to March 31,2014 (should be the last day of the preceding month)

  3. This type of RSU can include more than one record, hence the format of attachment shall include three (3) columns. Column 1 is the System Assigned Temporary Plate No., Column 2, the Ending of the Actual Plate Issued, and Column 3 is the Next Registration Date.

Example: For actual plate issued at Region I, AAK-1024

System Assigned Temporary Plate Number
Temporary Plate with Last two digit of Actual Plate Issued
Next Registration Date
0101-01
0101-24
31 March 2014

For strict compliance.
