[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2406, June 21, 1959 ]

AN ACT TO CONVERT THE PILAR HIGH SCHOOL INTO A RURAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE PILAR RURAL HIGH SCHOOL, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The present Pilar High School in the Province of Abra is hereby converted into a rural high school to be known as the Pilar Rural High School which shall be operated by the National Government through the Bureau of Public Schools.

SEC. 2. All property, including buildings, lands, material and equipment pertaining to the Pilar High School are hereby transferred to the Bureau of Public Schools for the use of the Pilar Rural High School.

SEC. 3. The Secretary of Education may promulgate such rules and regulations, not inconsistent with law, as may be necessary to carry into effect the purpose of this Act.

SEC. 4. The sum of one hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the operation and maintenance of the Pilar Rural High School during the school year nineteen hundred fifty-nine to nineteen hundred sixty. Thereafter, the necessary sum for said purpose shall be included in the annual General Appropriation Act.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon the date the funds authorized herein to be appropriated are provided for.
