[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2235, June 12, 1959 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED TWO THOUSAND FORTY-SIX, ENTITLED "AN ACT CREATING A PUBLIC CORPORATION TO BE KNOWN AS THE CAVITE ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTING AUTHORITY," AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The title of Republic Act Numbered Two thousand forty-six is hereby amended to read as follows:
"An Act creating a public corporation to be known as the Communications and Electricity Development Authority, Cavite."
SEC. 2. Section one of the same Act is amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. Creation of the Communications and Electricity Development Authority, Cavite: its general purposes; zone and extent of jurisdiction; domicile and place of business of the corporation.—For the purpose of consolidating and centralizing the generation and distribution of electric light, heat and/or power under one control, direction, management and supervision, and the development of communication facilities in the Province of Cavite, there is hereby created a public corporation to be known as the Communications and Electricity Development Authority, Cavite, which shall be organized immediately after the approval of this Act.

"The Communications and Electricity Development Authority; Cavite, shall have jurisdiction and supervision over all electric systems, own and manage all government electric systems and shall develop communications facilities within the boundaries of cities and municipalities in Cavite.

"The domicile and place of business of the Authority shall be determined by the Board of Directors."
SEC. 3. Section two of the same Act is hereby amended by adding thereto the following subparagraph:
"(m) To construct, maintain and operate radio and telephone networks."
SEC. 4. Whenever in the same Act the name "Cavite Electricity Distributing Authority," "Public Utilities Commission" and "Rehabilitation Finance Corporation" appear, they shall read respectively as "Communications and Electricity Development Authority, Cavite," "Public Service Commission" and "Development Bank of the Philippines.”

SEC. 5. The sum appropriated in Republic Act Numbered One thousand six hundred thirteen for Cavite under the following item, to wit:
a. Item 37, page 147, paragraph "g", section two (partial)
P50,000.00
and the sums appropriated In Republic Act Numbered One thousand nine hundred for Cavite or its cities and municipalities under the following items, to wit:
a. Item (47), page 6, paragraph "a", section one
P100,000.00
b. Item 38, page 448, paragraph "g", section two
75,000.00
c. Item 3, for Cavite City, page 513, paragraph "g", section two
55,000.00
d. Item 2, for Trece Martires City, page 519, paragraph "g", section two
150,000.00
e. Item 3, for Trece Martires City, page 519, paragraph "g", section two
30,000.00
f. Item 4, for Trece Martires City, page 519, paragraph "g", section two (partial)
30,000.00
g. Item 5, for Trece Martires City, page 519, paragraph "g", section two (partial)
100,000.00
h. Item 6, for Trece Martires City, page 519, paragraph "g", section two (partial)
100,000.00
i. Item 7, for Trece Martires City, page 519, paragraph "g", section two (partial)
100,000.00
and the sums appropriated in Republic Act Numbered Two thousand ninety-three for Cavite or its cities and municipalities under the following items, namely:
a. Item 18 (e), page 31, paragraph "a", Title B, section one
P20.000.00
b. Item 13 (a), page 156, paragraph "a", Title F, section one
40,000.00
c. Item 6 (c), page 327, paragraph "g", Title M, section one
500,000.00
d. Item 1 under "other public buildings", page 460, paragraph "g", Title M, section one
20,000.00
are hereby reappropriated for the use of the Communications and Electricity Development Authority, Cavite.
SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
