[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6079, August 04, 1969 ]

AN ACT AMENDING SECTION SIXTEEN OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-EIGHT, AS AMENDED, BY CREATING THE NATIONAL CENTRAL FILE DIVISION IN THE COMMISSION OF ELECTIONS.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section sixteen of Republic Act Numbered Thirty-live hundred eighty-eight, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 16. National Central File of Registered Voters. The triplicate copies of all approved applications for registration shall immediately be sent to the Commission on Elections. These applications shall be arranged alphabetically by city, municipality or municipal district and shall be open during office hours to the public with legitimate inquiries for purposes of election.

"To carry out the provisions of this section, there is hereby created the National Central File Division in the Commission on Elections. The Commission on Elections is hereby empowered to organize said division accordingly and to provide the necessary funds from its unexpended savings for the initial implementation of this provision and thereafter the funds needed for the operation of the division shall be included in the funds set aside for the Commission on Elections provided for in the General Appropriations Act for the succeeding fiscal years."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
