[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5983, August 04, 1969 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING BILIRAN RURAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BILIRAN, PROVINCE OF LEYTE, INTO A NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.





Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Biliran Rural High School in the Municipality of Biliran, Province of Leyte, is hereby converted into a national agricultural college to be known as Biliran National Agricultural College effective upon availability of funds. The Secretary of Education is hereby empowered to reorganize said school accordingly.

SEC. 2. The sum of one hundred fifty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the operation and maintenance of said college during the fiscal year nineteen hundred seventy in addition to the sum authorized to be appropriated under Republic Act Numbered Twenty-four hundred twenty-one. Such sums as may be necessary for the same purpose in subsequent years shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
