[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5930, June 21, 1969 ]

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE STANDARDIZATION OF SALARIES OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF QUEZON CITY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.





Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The provisions of the Revised Charter of Quezon City, as amended, to the contrary notwithstanding the following officials of Quezon City shall receive from the funds of the city their annual compensation as fixed hereunder:

SEC. 2. The officials hereinabove mentioned including the First Assistant City Fiscal shall receive commutable representation allowance to be determined by the City Council and as approved by the City Mayor, which shall in no case exceed their annual compensation: Provided, however, That in the case of the City Mayor and Vice Mayor, the City Council may, in its discretion, provide them in addition to their salaries and representation allowances, a commutable quarters allowance each in the amount of not more than twelve thousand pesos per annum.

SEC. 3. The incumbent officials holding the positions affected by this Act shall receive their salary increases and allowances upon the effectivity thereof without the necessity of new appointments: Provided, however, That the last two positions mentioned in Section one hereof which are hereby created shall be considered as permanent and embraced in the classified service, the appointment thereto to be extended by the City Mayor, subject however to existing civil service law, rules and regulations.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
