[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5144, June 17, 1967 ]

AN ACT AMENDING SECTION ONE OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FOUR THOUSAND NINETY-FOUR, ENTITLED "AN ACT ORGANIZING THE TECHNICAL STAFF OF THE SECRETARY OF JUSTICE AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF CERTAIN PERSONNEL THEREIN."



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Four thousand ninety-four is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. In the performance of his duties, the Secretary of Justice shall be assisted by a Technical Staff which shall have one Chief to be known as the Head Technical Assistant with a salary of fifteen thousand pesos per annum, two assistant chiefs to be known as Senior Technical Assistants each of whom shall receive fifteen thousand pesos per annum, two Senior Special Assistants each of whom shall receive a salary of six hundred pesos less than that provided for the senior technical assistants and eight special assistants whose salaries shall be as follows;

(a)Two Special Assistants each at six hundred pesos less than that herein provided for senior special assistants;

(b)Two Special Assistants each at six hundred pesos less than that herein provided in
the next preceding paragraph:

(c)Two Special Assistants each at six hundred pesos less than that herein provided for in the next preceding paragraph;

(d)Two Special Assistants each at six hundred pesos less than that provided for in the next preceding paragraph."

The present incumbents of the above positions shall receive their salary adjustments without the need of re-appointment.
SEC. 2. Such sums as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act are hereby appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
