H. NO. 1164 / 65 OG No. 10, 2318 (March 10, 1969)

[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5077, June 17, 1967 ]

AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF PRESIDENT MANUEL A. ROXAS IN THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION I. Barrios Tangian, Langatian, Dohinob, Tanayan, Dinoman, Villahermoso, Capase, Canibongan, Pinalan, Sebod, Marupay, lrasan, Carupe, Bod, Mamara, Moliton, Sindotan, Mitotong, Sanggay, Nabilid and Pinamar in the Municipality of Katipunan, Province of Zamboanga del Norte, are hereby separated from said municipality and constituted into a distinct and independent municipality, to be known as the Municipality of President Manuel A. Roxas. The seat of government of the new municipality shall be the present site of Barrio Tangian.

SEC. 2. The Municipality of President Manuel A. Roxas as herein created shall have the following boundaries:
"Beginning from the mouth of Minang Creek, following said creek upstream until it intersects latitude eight degrees and thirty minutes (8° 30') ; thence southwest in straight line until it reaches the intersection of latitude eight degrees and twenty-eight minutes (8° 28') and longitude one hundred twenty-three degrees and fifteen minutes (123C 15') thence due south until it intersects latitude eight degrees and twenty-five minutes (8° 25') ; thence southwest in straight line until it reaches the intersection of latitude eight degrees and seventeen minutes (8° 17) and longitude one hundred twenty-three degrees and ten minutes (123° 10’);thence due north until it intersects Dohinob Daku River which is the Manukan-Katipunan municipal boundary; thence following Dohinob Daku River downstream until it reaches the mouth of said river; thence following the shoreline until it reaches the mouth of Minang Creek, the point of beginning.
SEC. 3. The Municipality of President Manuel A. Roxas shall acquire corporate existence upon the election and qualification of the first mayor, vice-mayor and councilors in the next general elections for local officials. For election purposes, the municipal officials of the mother municipality charged with the election duties in accordance with the Revised Election Code shall hold office until the first officials shall have been elected and qualified.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
