[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7676, January 10, 1994 ]

AN ACT DECLARING JUNE THIRTY OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL NONWORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN TACLOBAN CITY, PROVINCE OF LEYTE, TO BE KNOWN AS "TACLOBAN DAY"



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The thirtieth day of June of every year, being the feast day of Se�or Santo Ni�o, the patron saint of Tacloban City and the Heavenly Patron of Leyte, is hereby declared a special nonworking public holiday in Tacloban City, Province of Leyte, to be known as "Tacloban Day."

SEC. 2. On June Thirty of every year, the officials of Tacloban City shall lead appropriate and meaningful celebrations, activities, and programs participated in by regional heads of departments and other government offices and their employees, civic, sports, religious and nongovernmental organizations, and private companies doing business in Tacloban City.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

Lapsed into law on January 10, 1994 without the President's signature, pursuant to Sec. 27(1), Article VI of the Constitution.
