[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 707, May 30, 1952 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES TO COLLECT, COMPILE AND PUBLISH THE SPEECHES, MESSAGES, AND OTHER WRITING OF THE LATE PRESIDENT MANUEL L. QUEZON, WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE BOARD ON TEXTBOOKS; AND TO DISTRIBUTE THE SAME WITHOUT CHARGE TO ALL PUBLIC LIBRARIES AND GOVERNMENT HIGH SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES; AND TO SELL THEM AT COST TO THE PUBLIC.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Director of Public Libraries is hereby authorized and directed to collect, compile, prepare for printing and publish in book form all the speeches, messages, and other papers and writings, both public and private, of the late President Manuel L. Quezon, with the approval of the Board on Textbooks, and to distribute the same without charge to all public libraries of schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions of the Government, and to sell copies thereof to the general public at cost.

SEC. 2. The sum of fifty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry out the purposes of this Act.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
