[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3949, June 18, 1964 ]

AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SCHOOL FOR PHILIP­PINE CRAFTSMEN IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MERIDA, PROVINCE OF LEYTE, TO BE KNOWN AS MERIDA VOCATIONAL SCHOOL, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.





Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. A school of the Polangui School for Philippine Craftsmen type is hereby established in the Municipality of Merida, Province of Leyte, to be known as Merida Vocational School.

SEC 2. The Secretary of Education is hereby authorized to organize the curricular instruction in said school and shall have the power to issue rules and regulations necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act.

SEC 3. The sum of two hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise   appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of said school during the fiscal year nineteen hundred and sixty-five. Thereafter, the  sums necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
