[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5353, June 15, 1968 ]

AN ACT STANDARDIZING SALARIES OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF MANILA AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.



Be it enacted by the Senate, and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The provisions of the Revised Charter of the City of Manila, as amended, to the contrary notwithstand­ing the following officials of the City of Manila shall receive the annual compensation as fixed hereunder:

Mayor P36,000.00
Vice-Mayor 30,000.00
Twenty Councilors 26,000.00 each
City Engineer 24,000.00
City Treasurer 24,000.00
City Assessor 24,000.00
City Health Officer 24,000.00
City Auditor24,000.00
City Public Service Officer24,000.00
Chief, Manila Fire Department 24,000.00
Superintendent of City Schools

including the National share of P7,200
24,000.00
Chairman, Veterinary Inspection Board24,000.00
Social Welfare Officer24,000.00
Secretary to the Mayor24,000.00
Secretary to the Board22,000.00
One Assistant Secretary and Administrative Officer of the Board

Assistant City Engineer 22,000.00
Assistant City Treasurer22,000.00
Assistant City Assessor22,000.00
Assistant City Health Officer22,000.00

SEC. 2. The officials herein above mentioned shall re­ceive commutable representation allowance to be determined by the Municipal Board and as approved by the Mayor.

SEC. 3. The   incumbent  officials   holding  the  positions affected by this Act shall receive the salary increases upon the effectivity thereof without the necessity of new ap­pointments.

SEC.  4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
