[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 4848, June 18, 1966 ]
AN ACT FIXING THE SALARIES OF THE OFFICERS AND PERSONNEL IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE ACCOUNTING, FISCAL AND OTHER SERVICES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The provisions of any law to the contrary notwithstanding, the Department of Justice shall have a General Services Staff, an Accounting Office, and a Fiscal Management Staff, whose respective chiefs shall be known as the Plead Administrative Assistant, the Department Chief Accountant, and the Department Financial Officer, each of whom shall receive an annual salary of twelve thousand pesos. It shall be their duty to give technical assistance to the Department Head on matters relating to general administration, accounting of funds, and fiscal operations, respectively, and in the performance thereof each of them shall be assisted by an assistant chief who shall receive an annual salary of ten thousand eight hundred pesos. In addition, the General Services Staff shall have two administrative supervisors, each of whom shall receive an annual salary of ten thousand two hundred pesos, and the Accounting Office, three supervising accountants, all of whom shall receive annual salaries at the rate of nine thousand pesos each, and such complementary personnel as hereinafter provided.
SEC. 2. The subordinate personnel under the direct supervision of the Head Administrative Assistant and their salaries shall be as follows:

SEC. 6. In addition to appropriations provided in the General Appropriations Act for the ensuing fiscal year for the Administrative Division, Accounting Division, Finance and Budget Division, Library, Offices of the Secretary and the Undersecretary, Department of Justice, such sums as may be necessary to cover salaries of the positions herein provided, as well as for equipment, maintenance, and other operating expenses, are hereby appropriated out of any funds of the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Such amounts shall be included in subsequent General Appropriations Act.
SEC. 7. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

- One senior appointments examiner at seven thousand two hundred pesos;
- One personnel officer at seven thousand two hundred pesos;
- Two supervising clerks each at four thousand eight hundred pesos;
- Two senior stenographers each at four thousand eight hundred pesos;
- Three stenographers each at three thousand nine hundred sixty pesos;
- Five senior clerks each at three thousand nine hundred sixty pesos;
- One senior security guard at three thousand four hundred eighty pesos;
- Nine clerk-typists each at three thousand pesos;
- Seven filing clerks each at three thousand pesos;
- Two index clerks each at three thousand pesos;
- Five security guards each at three thousand pesos;
- One head janitor with quarters at three thousand pesos; and
- Three janitors each at two thousand four hundred pesos.
- Two accountants each at seven thousand two hundred pesos;
- Three supervising accounting clerks each at five thousand four hundred pesos;
- Three supervising clerks each at four thousand eight hundred pesos;
- Four bookkeepers each at four thousand five hundred pesos;
- Four senior clerks each at three thousand nine hundred sixty pesos;
- Six accounting clerks each at three thousand six hundred pesos; and
- Five subsidiary ledger clerks each at three thousand six hundred pesos.
- One supply officer at seven thousand eight hundred pesos;
- One cashier and disbursing officer at six thousand six hundred pesos;
- One budget officer at six thousand pesos;
- Two senior fiscal clerks each at three thousand nine hundred sixty pesos;
- Four fiscal clerks each at three thousand pesos;
- One canvasser at three thousand six hundred pesos; and
- One stock clerk at two thousand seven hundred pesos.
- One supervising legal researcher at eight thousand four hundred pesos;
- One executive assistant at seven thousand two hundred pesos;
- One researcher at six thousand pesos;
- One research library assistant at six thousand pesos;
- One librarian at five thousand four hundred pesos;
- One supervising clerk at four thousand eight hundred pesos;
- Three senior clerks at three thousand nine hundred sixty pesos; and
- One stenographer at three thousand nine hundred sixty pesos.
Office of the Secretary
- One private secretary at eight thousand four hundred pesos;
- One senior special investigator (confidential) at six thousand pesos;
- One senior stenographer at four thousand eight hundred pesos;
- One stenographer at four thousand two hundred pesos;
- One senior clerk at three thousand nine hundred sixty pesos;
- One clerk at three thousand pesos; and
- One janitor at two thousand four hundred pesos.
- One private secretary at seven thousand two hundred pesos;
- One special investigator (confidential) at five thousand four hundred pesos; and
- One senior stenographer at four thousand eight hundred pesos.
