[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5296, June 15, 1968 ]

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THREE ADDITIONAL JUDGES FOR THE SEVENTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT TO PRESIDE OVER THE COURT OF FIRST INSTANCE OF QUEZON CITY, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTIONS FIFTY AND FIFTY-TWO OF THE JUDICIARY ACT OF 1948.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in
Congress assembled:


SECTION 1. The seventh paragraph of Section fifty of Republic Act Numbered Two
hundred ninety-six, otherwise known as "The Judiciary Act of 1948", as amended is hereby further   amended  to  read   as  follows:
"Twenty-four judges  shall  be  commissioned  for  the Seventh Judicial District. Eighteen judges shall preside over the Courts of  First Instance of Rizal, Quezon City, Pasay  City  and  Caloocan   City  and   shall  be  known   as judges  of  the first, second, third, fourth,  fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth branches thereof, respectively; four judges shall preside over the Courts of the First Instance of the Province of Cavite  and   the   cities   of   Cavite, Tagaytay,   and  Trece Martires, and shall be known as judges of the first, second, third, and fourth branches thereof, respectively; and two judges shall preside over the Court of First Instance of Palawan."
SEC. 2  The sixth subparagraph of the second paragraph of Section fifty-two of the
same Act, as amended, is further ended to read as follows:
"For the Seventh Judicial District, seven judges shall be stationed in the Municipality of Pasig, Province of Rizal; two judges shall be stationed in Pasay City; six  judges in Quezon City;  two judges  in  Caloocan City; one judge in the Municipality of Makati, Province of  Rizal; one judge in the Municipality of Puerto Princesa, Province of Palawan; one judge in the Municipality  of Brooke's Point, same province; two judges in the City of Cavite; one judge in the City of Trece Martires; and one judge in Tagaytay."

SEC. 3. There is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated,  the sum of one hundred eighty thousand pesos or so
much thereof as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
