[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5283, June 15, 1968 ]

AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF TRENTO, PROVINCE OF AGUSAN



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. There is hereby created in the Province of Agusan a municipality to be known as the Municipality of Trento which  consists  of  a   portion   of the  Municipality of  Bunawan,  Province of  Agusan.

SEC. 2. The Municipality of Trento will  comprise the territory beginning from a point at the center of a concrete box culvert over Manglogayon Creek along Agusan-Davao Road due East running in an imaginary line toward a point  intersecting the main Manat (Manay) River; thence due Northeast running in an northeasterly direction until the point of intersection of the Agusan-Surigao del Sur provincial boundary and the Bunawan-San Francisco Municipal boundary; thence due South following the Agusan-Surigao  del   Sur  provincial  boundary to  a point of intersection  of  the   Davao-Agusan provincial boundary and the  Agusan-Surigao  del  Sur  provincial   boundary; thence due West following the Davao-Agusan provincial boundary to a point intersecting the imaginary line from the point of origin running South; thence due North running in a straight imaginary line to the point of origin, comprising the barrios of Trento, Basa, Kapatoñgan, Tudela, Cuevas,  San  Isidro, Santa  Maria, Salvacion, San Ignacio,  Libertad and Langkila-an and will have its seat of government at the present barrio site of Trento.

SEC. 3. The Municipality of Trento shall acquire corporate existence upon the election and qualification of the first mayor, vice-mayor and councilors in the next general elections   for   local   officials. For   election   purposes, the municipal officials of the mother municipality charged with the election duties in accordance with the Revised Election Code shall hold office until the first officials shall have been elected and qualified.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
