[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1542, June 16, 1956 ]

AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS TWENTY-ONE AND EIGHTY-FOUR OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF ILIGAN.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The first paragraph of section twenty-one of Republic Act Numbered Five hundred twenty-five, as amended, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Iligan, is further amended to read as follows:

"SEC 21. The city treasurer—His powers, duties and compensation.—There shall be a city treasurer who shall have charge of the department of finance and shall act as chief fiscal officer and financial adviser of the city and custodian of its funds. He shall receive a salary of not "exceeding three thousand six hundred pesos per annum. There shall also be an assistant city treasurer who shall receive a salary of three thousand pesos per annum. The city treasurer shall have the following general powers and duties:"

SEC. 2. Section eighty-four of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 84. General Auditing Office—City Auditor.—The city auditor, under the supervision of the Auditor General, shall receive and audit all accounts of the city in accordance with the provisions of law relating to government accounts and accounting. The city auditor shall receive a compensation of three thousand six hundred pesos per annum, one-half of which shall be payable from the funds of the city, and the other half from funds of the National Government There' shall be an assistant city auditor who shall receive a compensation of three thousand pesos per annum payable from funds of the city."

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
