[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7839, December 16, 1994 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE CITY HIGH SCHOOL (BUGO), A NATIONALIZED REGULAR HIGH SCHOOL, LOCATED IN BUGO, CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, INTO A SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES, TO BE KNOWN AS THE CAGAYAN DE ORO (BUGO) SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES AND, FOR THIS PURPOSE, AUTHORIZING THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER, WITHOUT COST, OF ALL OF THE FORMER'S FACILITIES, SCHOOL SITE, BUILDINGS AND OTHER PROPERTIES TO THE LATTER



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The City High School (Bugo), a nationalized high school located in Bugo, Cagayan de Oro City, is hereby converted into a school of arts and trades, to be known as the Cagayan de Oro (Bugo) School of Arts and Trades. For this purpose, all of the former's facilities, school site, buildings and other properties are hereby automatically transferred, without cost, to the latter.

SEC. 2. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Chairman of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), is hereby empowered to reorganize the City High School (Bugo) in order to facilitate the teaching of vocational and technical courses in addition to its general academic curriculum.

SEC. 3. The automatic transfer of all assets, records and personnel of the City High School (Bugo) to the Cagayan de Oro (Bugo) School of Arts and Trades shall be coordinated by the Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports and the Chairman of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

SEC. 4. The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the City High School (Bugo) located in Cagayan de Oro City. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
