[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7370, April 10, 1992 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE CALAPE COMMUNITY-BASED AGRO-INDUSTRIAL COLLEGE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CALAPE, PROVINCE OF BOHOL, INTO A POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE TO BE KNOWN AS THE CALAPE POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTlON 1. The Calape Community-Based Agro-Industrial College in the Municipality of Calape, Province of Bohol, is hereby converted into a polytechnic college to be known as the Calape Polytechnic College, hereinafter referred to as the College.

SEC. 2. In addition to its present curricular offerings, the College shall offer non-degree terminal courses in the field of technical and vocational education, including two-year nursing aide, paramedical aide, fish technology, and agricultural technology courses, as well as in eighteen-month midwifery course, one-year craftsman certificate to electrical technology course and a six-month typing and stenography course. The College shall concentrate in the post-secondary level education and in the non-formal and indigenous learning systems as well as in self-learning, independent and out-of-school study programs.

SEC. 3. All assets, fixed and movable, records and personnel of the Calape Community-Based Agro-Industrial College, as well as its liabilities, are hereby transferred to the College: Provided, however, That the positions, rights and security of tenure of the personnel employed therein under existing laws prior to their absorption by the College are not impaired.

SEC. 4. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports shall take such steps as are necessary for the conversion and operation of the College and the immediate implementation of this Act.

SEC. 5. In addition to the current appropriations of the Calape Community-Based Agro-Industrial College, the amount needed to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on August 1, 1991 and January 23, 1992, respectively.
